Joanna Gleason has been teaching since 1987 when she was asked to do a workshop at N.Y.'s Circle In The Square Theatre School, where she is once again teaching. She later taught regular classes there for two years. Guest Appearances and classes have included: Pace University, Claire Trevor School of the Arts, University of California, Irvine, Theatre Resources Unlimited, Primary Stages, Stella Adler Studio, Broadway Mentors, De Sales University, American Center for Music Theatre, Occidental College, Manhatan School of Music-Musical Theatre Division(upcoming), Beverly Hills High School, Staples High School in West Port Connecticut, Los Angeles High School of the Arts, Oak Park High School in Thousand Oaks California, and one wacky workshop for Second City in Chicago.
She has also run professional workshops for song writers and opera singers. Her career as an actor includes Broadway, Off-Broadway, may television series and work for Woody Allen, Mike Nichols, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Aaron Sorkin among others. She is a recipient of a Tony, three Drama Desks, the Theatre World, Clarence Derwent, and Neslon Rockefeller Awards (SUNY Purchase College) in addition to the Outer Critics Circle, and The New England Theatre Conference,
